As the rainy season starts, remember that the storm water runoff eventually ends up in our rivers. Let’s try our best to protect the health of the rivers by preventing pollution from ending up in our storm water runoff. Here are some easy ways you can do that in your own home:
- Use fertilizers sparingly and sweep up driveways, sidewalks, and gutters so that leaves and litter don’t enter the storm drain.
- Check your car for leaks and recycle your motor oil.
- Never dump anything down the storm drain or into a stream.
- Pick up after your pet.
